Hello, I'm
Abbey

What do you love about therapy?

My deep longing to care for people and improve their quality of life, combined with my own healing journey, are what made me fall in love with counseling. I firmly believe that we are not meant to face life's challenges alone. Life can be overwhelming, leaving us feeling weary and uncertain. But I believe that within each person lies a wellspring of strength and resilience waiting to be rediscovered. Together, we can navigate life's complexities, untangle the knots of trauma, anxiety, confusion, and hurt, and forge new paths toward wholeness. Seeking therapy is an act of courage, and I would be honored to play a small but meaningful part in your story by empowering you to create change and find deeper fulfillment in your life.

What are your specialities?

I specialize in working with individuals who struggle with anxiety, trauma, self-esteem issues and relationship problems.

What is your therapeutic style?

My therapeutic approach is inspired by cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), which focuses on the connection between thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. I also draw from existential philosophy to explore deeper questions about meaning and purpose. Additionally, I like to incorporate mindfulness-based techniques and psychoeducation to enhance the therapeutic process and promote long-term growth. I believe that each person is unique, and therapy should be tailored to meet the specific needs and goals of each client. My aim is to equip clients with practical tools and insights to tap into their inner strengths, develop new skills, and create positive change that extends far beyond our time together.

What is your self care?

In my free time, I love soaking up some sunshine on a leisurely walk or bike ride with my husband and our mini aussie, Cowboy. An ideal self-care evening for me is a backyard picnic complete with a cozy fire, a tall glass of Mississippi sweet tea, and fresh-out-of-the-oven chocolate chip cookies. My goal for the upcoming year is to try out gardening, so we’ll see how that goes!
